THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this dynamic position, you will play a crucial role in advancing our maintenance operations by engaging in entry-level technical work that directly impacts our community. You will have the opportunity to assist in the comprehensive review, analysis, and development of essential maintenance programs in alignment with department policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include actively monitoring and inspecting our roadside initiatives and contracted services, including our vital herbicide program. By overseeing inventory levels and ensuring the safe storage of all county herbicide materials, you will help us maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Moreover, you will collect and preserve important data related to crash incidents, emphasizing the importance of confidentiality in your role. Conducting thorough investigations at accident sites will allow you to assess damage accurately, document roadway conditions, and capture photographic evidence that is critical for our records. Your meticulous attention to detail in the Pennsylvania Data Integration Facility (PDIF) system will be instrumental in maintaining accurate and reliable data.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist in preparing rental bids and monitoring the utilization of rented equipment, ensuring we get the most value for the county's resources. You will also collaborate closely with management staff on SAP and plant maintenance functions for initiatives such as the annual work plan, period plans, and cyclical maintenance activities, including the 213 program. Your contributions will involve running and analyzing SAP reports on maintenance operations, helping to keep our county's activities on track and ensuring we meet our established goals and objectives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ This position may require shift work as needed in the winter months.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year of experience as a Technical Assistant;or
+ One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent;or
+ An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program;or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
+ Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
