Roadway Quality Technician Inspector FDOT
Overview MasTec Civil is currently hiring for a FDOT Roadway Quality Technician/Inspector. The QC Technician is responsible for inspecting work as per the instructions and guidance provided by senior staff. They are also responsible for monitoring and documenting the daily events of contractors and subcontractors and notifying supervisors of any issues that may affect the project. The QC Technician must also inspect materials to ensure they conform to the plans and specifications. Responsibilities Work with QC Manager and/or senior level inspector and/or field engineer to learn how to perform QC inspections and prepare required records/reports in compliance with requirements. Performs: a. inspections; b. audits to ensure compliance with QC requirements and plans. Material inspections for earthwork by means of densities using the nuclear density testing method. Concrete inspection and testing. Complete required forms for testing materials on computer/iPad. Learn QC Program and applicable codes for discipline assigned. Monitoring and documenting contractor and subcontractor daily events May perform general administrative and recordkeeping duties for the department. Perform additional assignments per the supervisor's direction. All employees are required to maintain a safe working space and shall point out any unsafe conditions they encounter. Candidate would have option of using his/her own vehicle (truck and be compensated ($500 per month), candidate would need their own auto insurance and would have to meet minimum liability requirements per company policy. If candidate wishes to use a company vehicle, then vehicle would remain at jobsite for use only during working hours. Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection • High School diploma or equivalent • Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Position will include some night, holiday, and weekend work, and qualified candidates must be willing to work as-needed on these occasions • Ability to use computer for daily reports and data entry.
