We are seeking a **Roadway Testing Technician** to join our Duluth, GA team! Come join us!
**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
Atlas is seeking a Roadway Testing Technician to join our Duluth team. GA. The successful candidate for this position will be performing intermediate to advanced level technical roadway and structure material sampling and testing work performed under general supervision.
Technicians will at a minimum:
+ Provide sampling and testing of various construction materials for quality assurance and acceptance.
+ Perform roadway construction material compaction using the Nuclear Gauge to accurately obtain density and moisture results.
+ Conduct plant inspection during the production period of asphaltic concrete.
+ Coordinate efforts with contractors and testing management supervisors to ensure client contract specifications are met.
+ Prepare all reports and documentation for projects on a daily basis.
+ Perform other field and laboratory tests as requested and according to accepted procedures and according to required schedule and frequency.
+ Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment to comply with company and client standards.
**Minimum requirements:**
+ Civil Engineering Technology degree or Construction Management degree and five (1) years of road and bridge construction and/or maintenance engineering and inspection experience; or
+ Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree and three (3) years experience in roadway materials sampling and testing; or
+ High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years experience in roadway materials sampling and testing.
+ Required Certifications:
+ GDOT Roadway Testing Technician Certification
+ ACI Concrete Grade I or GDOT Field Concrete Testing Technician
+ Radiation Safety Nuclear Gauge Device Use
**Technical requirements:**
+ Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
+ Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
+ Knowledge of surveying, highway construction, or design.
+ Knowledge of mathematical functions, including averages and percentages.
+ •Ability to read & understand contract specifications & requirements
+ Ability to prioritize workload – Efficiency in time management.
+ Professional and timely communication with staff, clients, and other project team members both internal and external.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
**Other miscellaneous qualities:**
