Job Responsibilities:
Purpose and Responsibility
To deliver cost effective manufacturing solutions for the assembly of production equipment which meets all customer quality and timing requirements. This position is responsible for helping to integrate all new and take-over program launches from a Robotic field into the Assembly Department. Responsible to manage robotic programs through direct involvement through all phases from engineering support at the vendor before the issue of a purchase order to product launch. Responsible for training and skill set advancement of other Multi-Craft personnel. Also responsible for continual improvement with all robotic processes.
Essential Functions
Champion the development of robotic process layouts, interface with Operator stations, timing and quoting instruction to all participating vendors quoting on the project.Establish and follow up on full robotic program implementation (i.e. timing, PFMEA concept, manufacturing feasibility, process, simulation, prototype, line design, pattern build, hard tool build, engineering changes, tooling try-out, assembly verification, buy-off at vendor shop, home line try-out, PSO and PPAP and program launchUnderstand and perform Precision exterior hemming geometryMercedes standard for Mercedes hemming geometryDimensional improvement for hemming geometryRead and comprehend measurement reports and develop action plans for assembly units.
Additional Sklls
Fanuc and Kuka programming languagesRobotic spot, mig, laser, material handling, roll hemming, adhesive applications, 2k, tera-stat, anti-flutter etc.Robotic interfaces with PLC and aux. equipmentExperience in the use of Catia, UG or AutoCad would be an advantage.Education
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience, Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, CAD and CAD Viewer programs; and Robotic Programming. Experience in from scratch robotic programming.
4-6 years of related work in the automotive/robotics industry.
Work Experience
Minimum 4 years Robotic experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
