**Overview** PCC, a company within GCG’s Automation & Factory Solutions division, is seeking a Robotic Systems Engineer to design, develop, program, and implement collaborative robot (cobot) systems from concept to installation. This role involves mechanical design, electrical integration, programming, and system commissioning to deliver efficient automation solutions. This role is part of PCC (Power Controls & Communications), a company within GCG's Automation and Factory Solutions division. PCC specializes in delivering cutting-edge automation solutions, helping customers optimize their manufacturing and production processes through innovative robotics and advanced control systems. You will collaborate with internal engineering teams, customers, and other stakeholders to develop tailored automation solutions while also traveling (~30%) to customer sites to install, commission, and support robotic systems. If you are a self-driven problem solver with strong technical expertise and thrive in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply! **What you’ll do** **Design & Development** + Utilize SolidWorks to design robotic systems, components, and supporting structures + Develop custom automation solutions, ensuring functionality, safety, and efficiency **Electrical & Mechanical Integration** + Assist in wiring, assembling, and troubleshooting robotic systems to ensure seamless operation + Integrate sensors, controllers, and safety systems into robotic solutions **Programming & Controls** + Develop, test, and refine robot programs to optimize system efficiency and performance + Implement basic PLC concepts for automation and system coordination **System Testing & Validation** + Conduct in-house and on-site testing to verify system performance and resolve any technical challenges + Utilize robotic simulation software (e.g., RoboDK) for system validation and optimization **Installation & Support** + Travel to customer sites (~30%) to install and commission robotic systems + Provide training and post-installation support to customers to ensure proper operation and troubleshooting **Collaboration & Continuous Improvement** + Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop effective automation solutions + Research and implement new technologies to enhance robotic capabilities and efficiency + Ensure compliance with safety standards and risk assessments for robotic systems **What you’ll bring** **Required:** + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics Engineering, or a related field (commensurate experience will be considered) + Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design + Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment + Willingness to travel (~30%) for on-site installations and support **Preferred:** + Experience with collaborative robots (cobots) and industrial automation + Knowledge of sensor integration, wiring standards, and basic PLC concepts for automation systems + Familiarity with safety standards and risk assessments for robotic systems + Exposure to RoboDK or other robotic simulation software for system validation and optimization **What we offer** + Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience + Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance + 401(k) with employer contribution + PTO and paid holidays + Collaborative work environment with a focus on innovation and growth **About GCG AFS** GCG Automation & Factory Solutions is dedicated to advancing the growth of light industry automation and factory solutions across key verticals in North America.
