Robotic Weld Engineer
Position Overview The Robotic Weld Engineer manages the development and implementation process of the company’s products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end. Responsibilities Work within cross-functional teams to diagnose fit up issues in large assemblies and execute the decided upon plan of action Read and interpret weld schedules and program Fanuc robots to create referenced weld schedules Evaluate robotic processes and create optimization plans to increase cell output Evaluate weld cell performance, create and execute optimization plans to optimize quality Analyzes designs, programs, simulations, and test procedures for automated machinery and processes. Exercises judgment in selecting existing methods and techniques for obtaining solutions on mainly routine problems. Ability to communicate a technical language with programmers by having a fundamental understanding of computer/PLC programming. Capability to problem solve using coding, programs, analytics. Implements and supports controls architecture with focus on process stability, system availability, as well as ease of operation and maintenance. Monitors project progress and performance against project plan. Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings. Prepare planning options and standards, evaluate cost-efficiency, and provide analysis of both. Take part in continuous improvement process to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Supports planning, engineering, and commissioning of controls equipment till final buyoffs of equipment in the shops together with suppliers and MBV production / maintenance teams. Tracks budget and ensures production timelines. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree At least 5 years of technical project/program management experience OR Master’s degree At least 3 years of technical project/program management experience OR At least 7 years of technical project/program management experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills • Fanuc robot programming, troubleshooting and repair experience • Comfortable working with and troubleshooting voltages from 24VDC to 480VAC using a multimeter • Proficiency in troubleshooting from prints/schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) • Proficiency with Atlas Copco tool controllers • Proficiency in DC Tool software: ToolsNet, ToolsTalk PowerMAC, ToolsTalk PowerFocus, ToolsTalk 2 • Handling multiple projects simultaneously that may include multiple contractors and subcontractors • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 • Design, build, and commission control panels that meet NFPA and NEC guidelines • Program/troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC's including but not limited to SLC, Compact Logix, and Control Logix a plus • Proficiency in RS Logix 500 and 5000 as well as Studio 5000 a plus • Ability to program/troubleshoot Allen Bradley VFD's Powerflex family and ArmorStart family • AutoCAD or other drafting program experience • Reading and understanding of technical documents Company Overview At International Motors, LLC* (“International”), we’ve never backed away from forging our own path.
