Position Description

 

The Control and Autonomous Systems Engineering Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a dedicated Robotics Engineer to lead and innovate in the field of autonomous systems. In this role, you will focus on developing and implementing advanced algorithms that enable multiple autonomous systems to fuse local sensor information into a global representation such that the entire team can plan effectively despite uncertainties. This critical function enhances situational awareness and decision-making capabilities across various domains including ocean, land, air, and space environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Develop state-of-the-art perception algorithms that allow for real-time data fusion, tracking, and interpretation across multiple autonomous agents Design and implement systems that enhance communication and data sharing between autonomous platforms, ensuring efficient integration and processing of shared information Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and field test multi-agent systems in real-world scenarios

 

Qualifications

 

A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Background in algorithm development for multi-agent sensor fusion. A track record of publications in this area is desired. Well-qualified candidates with a M.S. and 5+ years of experience are also encouraged to apply Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Julia, MATLAB, or similar languages Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and computer vision is highly desirable and Factor Graph optimization is also highly desirable  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical details coherently

 

80% ONSITE WORK IS EXPECTED.
