Internship Summary

Unarco is looking for an engaged and enthusiastic Intern to join our Summer 2023 paid internship program.  Interns are encouraged to think and act like entrepreneurs and are provided significant responsibility and autonomy to get things done. As an intern, you will gain substantial personal learning and career development opportunities through ownership of real-world job assignments, strong coaching and mentorship and networking with senior leaders across the organization. Over the course of this program, Interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience, and insight into the customer concept to production processes and methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities:Cross-Functional collaboration with other team members on various automation, engineering and manufacturing projectsAnalyze, develop and enhance automated manufacturing cells in areas such as robotics, cycle time and throughput optimization, data acquisition and reporting systems, measurement and metrology devices, PLC’s, lasers, metal forming, welding systems, servo motors and other motion control systems Compare technologies based on cost, functionality, lead time, support level, reliability, and other factors.Support equipment buy-off and activities to bring new equipment online.Work with the IIoT team to implement connectivity and data collection.Participate in team meetingsDevelop project requirements based on business data and shop floor observationsUse your engineering skills to specify / design / build / implement solutions, as required, in conjunction with senior engineering staff

Qualifications:Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Degree Program with a focus on Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Science or related field3.0+ GPAProficient in using software applications, especially Microsoft OfficeExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication and presentation skillsCollaborates well in both one-on-one and teamwork settingsFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check as permitted or required by applicable law.

Certain peak periods may provide opportunity for overtime. This is a paid position. Internship will run for 10 weeks from June to August. Exact dates flexible.
