Robotics Infrastructure Software Engineer

ROBOTICS INFRASTURCTURE SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Python/Kubernetes/Docker)

Full-time position

Lexington, MA (Hybrid Schedule)

Base salary range: $150,000 - 170,000 annually

Primary Job Function:

●\tCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative software solutions for robotic applications focused on package handling.

●\tAct as an interface between DevOps and software teams, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of services.

●\tEnable and optimize robotic systems to deliver critical product features, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

●\tDevelop and manage software and integration tools, including process management and environment setup, while facilitating the transition of applications to new platforms.

Minimum Skills/Technical Requirements:

o\t4+ years in software development.

o\tProven commercial experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.

o\tAbility to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Proficiencies:

o\tProgramming Languages: Python, C++, Bash, and other scripting languages.

o\tContainerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker/Docker-compose.

o\tDatabases: MongoDB and other NoSQL databases.

o\tStrong understanding of parallel and distributed systems, including experience with cloud technologies for deploying and managing scalable, high-performance applications.

o\tSystem-level components that interface between user applications and the operating system

o\tNetwork Configuration & Protocols.

o\tAsynchronous and concurrent programming (e.g., asyncio).

o\tVersion Control & CI/CD: Git, GitHub Actions.

o\tIssue Tracking: Jira.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

o\tUbuntu Kernel-level knowledge.

o\tSystem design and design patterns.

o\tExperience with ArgoCD/Workflows.

o\tFamiliarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and Zookeeper.

o\tUnderstanding of Warehouse Management/Control Systems (WMS/WCS).

o\tRobotics and robotic solutions.

o\tBasic knowledge of robot simulation and visualization.

Specialized Experience:

o\tExposure to or strong interest in robotics and the material handling industry.

o\tProficiency in basic data analysis (logging, profiling, statistics).

o\tExperience with:

\tClear code documentation.\tSoftware testing (e.g., pytest).\tReal sensors, robots, and robot simulation.\tAPI development and distributed networking (e.g., Apache Kafka, gRPC, DDS).\tMaster's degree in Computer Science or a similar fieldAbout Actalent
