Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.The work model for the role is: onsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification Business.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tConduct literature survey and benchmarking to assess the state of art methods for a given problem•\tTake part in the development of computer algorithms in perception, planning and control to enable creation of future autonomous robotics•\tDebug, test and validate core algorithms in a mockup or full-blown setup•\tGenerate intellectual property and writing scientific publications•\tExcellent skills in supporting technological change by fast learning•\tDemonstrate use of creativity and innovation in creating new technology and solutions•\tLiving ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.

Qualifications for the role

\tMust be currently authorized to work for ABB in the US\tPhD or master’s student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred)\tStrong background in deep neural networks, vision foundation models and vision language models. \tExperience with 3D reconstruction, object segmentation, object detection and 6D pose estimation from RGB or RGB-D data\tProficient in Python, PyTorch, OpenCV and Open3D \tExperience with ROS and Nvidia Isaac is a plus
