Toyota’s Body Weld PE Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated DE Seibi Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform DE studies, including developing virtual robot programs and confirming process feasibility, in support of New Model implementation to North America Manufacturing Centers. This role also involves programming robots at manufacturing or vendor facilities, supporting equipment preparation, production-related studies, development of Weld Schedules, and efficiency/improvement initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesConduct DE studies to produce virtual robot programs and confirm new model process feasibility.Confirm Digital Factory Condition for accuracy.Create Weld Schedule Instruction Sheets and provide supplemental documents to customers.Conduct New Model process planning (DE) studies.Support new model preparation activities, including programming robots at vendor locations or manufacturing centers.Prepare and confirm new or modified Body Weld equipment at vendors or manufacturing centers.Develop equipment countermeasures during planning, set-up, and trial phases.Travel up to 30% to U.S., Canada, Mexico NAMCs, and international locations including Japan.Work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.Essential SkillsAssociate technical degree or higher, or 1 year of equivalent technical work experience.Experience with robotic programming of industrial robots using teach pendants/coding.Experience with virtual robotic programming using any 3D simulation software.Ability to travel up to 30%, including international travel.Ability to work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.Proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering/Technical field.CAROTT SEIBI, MACHINE SEIBI, or Body Weld maintenance experience.Visual Components (BisFactory) experience.Body Shop Project/Mass Production Experience.Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with Mondays and Fridays working from home, and Tuesdays through Thursdays in the office. Steel toe boots are required. The role involves up to 30% domestic and international travel to support equipment installation, with potential for international travel 3 months after start, depending on project timing. Valid passport and work permit, if applicable, are needed. The job also requires up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays. The work involves actual robotic programming of industrial robots utilizing 3D simulation software in an offline setting, with Delmia being the preferred software.
