Rockwell Project Engineer
Job Title: Rockwell Project EngineerJob Description Project Engineers are responsible for designing and leading building automation projects utilizing Rockwell and AVEVA technologies. Day-to-day tasks will be determined by the specific requirements of each project. This position offers growth into a leadership role, leading a team of 2-5 Rockwell Designers on customer sites. Responsibilities + Provide technical guidance for a project team of 2-5 engineers. + Identify and assign tasks within the project team. + Lead customer meetings. + Assist with proposal generation by estimating hardware costs and engineering effort. + Maintain relationships with existing customers. + Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings. + Research and select appropriate instrumentation and controls hardware. + Compile submittal documentation for controls and instrument hardware. + Create panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosures. + Procure project hardware. + Provide technical support for panel fabrication technicians. + Inspect completed control enclosures. + Lead customer design review meetings. + Configure user interface and HMI screens. + Configure DDC, PLC, and/or DCS control algorithms. + Execute internal functional and quality control testing. + Draft system documentation. + Assist in customer demonstrations and acceptance testing. + Install project software and configuration onto site systems. + Participate in point-to-point loop checks for all instrumentation. + Perform software calibration and tuning. + Conduct functional tests of all systems. + Troubleshoot installation discrepancies. + Support additional customer testing. + Program field modifications as required. + Train customer representatives on operations and maintenance of the system. Essential Skills + Experience with Rockwell and AVEVA platforms. + Knowledge of automation, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, and building automation systems. + Experience with BACnet and LON controllers, Eclypse Controllers. + Familiarity with Rockwell FactoryTalk Suite, RS Logix/Studio 5000, and PlantPAx DCS. + Experience with Johnson Controls Facility Explorer or Metasys controllers. + Familiarity with Tridium Niagara N4. + Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (VBA, Python, etc.). + Experience with Kepware OPC server, ThinManager, and VMware. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Basic understanding of HVAC systems in large building automation systems. + Understanding of sequence of operations and P&IDs for HVAC and plant utilities. + Experience with functional testing, including the ability to create, maintain, and execute test plans. + Experience with specifying instrumentation and control valves for HVAC systems. Work Environment This individual will report to the Dublin, OH office when not on customer sites. The typical schedule includes months spent at a customer site in a trailer/mobile office installed for the project. Once the project is completed, they will move onto the next one. The individual will be working on sites within a 30-minute radius of the Dublin, Ohio office 90% of the time, with occasional travel up to a 2-hour radius 10% of the time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $49.00 - $58.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
