Job Description
Our Client is currently seeking hard-working and career-driven individuals to join their survey crews. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Crew Chief in completing the crew's assigned field survey tasks.
ResponsibilitiesTransmit survey data to proper files in the computer network and acquire data for field use.Accurately and efficiently clear lines, establish points, tape, chain, and level for field survey projects as assigned by the Crew Chief.Maintain and clean the crew's assigned vehicle, ensuring it is stocked with necessary equipment and supplies as instructed by the Crew Chief. Report any mechanical or safety-related problems to the Crew Chief.Load, clean, and store field surveying equipment used by the crew.Communicate and coordinate effectively with other crew members to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects.Observe all safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when working around traffic or on active construction sites.Accurately identify various types of trees encountered while performing field survey work.Assist in the training of entry-level rodmen as requested.Cut and clear brush and trees from the line of survey.Stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.When supporting SUE work, perform heavy labor including using a jackhammer, digging, setting up site, operating a vacuum truck, and site clean-up.Essential SkillsConstruction experienceLabor and manual labor experienceAbility to learn surveyingExperience working outside in Florida elementsValid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR checkHigh school education or GEDAbility to perform heavy laborAbility to work outside in extreme heat and weatherAbility to lift 50 lbs or moreAdditional Skills & QualificationsPrevious utility locating or survey experience is a plusWork Environment
This role involves running 2-3 man crews out of this office and working outdoors in extreme Florida elements. Employees report to the office at 6 am, then travel to sites, working until about 4-5 pm with overtime required and paid at 1.5x. Plenty of breaks are provided. The job may require out-of-town work with travel up to 5 days during the week, with potential overnight stays. Lodging and per diem are provided. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
