Job Title: RodmanJob Description Assist the designator in carrying the locating equipment to and from the job site. Aid the testhole foreman in taking pictures of measure downs, utility sizes, and pavement thicknesses for test holes. Perform levels, complete level notes to the top of the exposed utilities before backfilling test holes, and backfill, compact, and patch the excavated test holes. Clean and restore the areas before leaving the job site daily. Responsibilities + Assist designator in transporting locating equipment to and from job site + Help testhole foreman in capturing images of measure downs, utility sizes, and pavement thicknesses + Perform levels and complete level notes to the top of exposed utilities before backfilling test holes + Backfill, compact, and patch excavated test holes + Clean and restore job site areas daily before departure + Ensure utility designation and location tasks (QL-A and QL-B) are carried out safely and effectively + Collect and download project data according to applicable jurisdiction standards and meet quality control protocols Essential Skills + Willingness to learn and follow directions from Party Chief + Strong focus on quality of data collected + Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations + 0-3 years of field experience + High interest in surveying Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with total station or AutoCAD is preferred, but not required + Experience with land surveying, utility locating, location services, and GPS + General labor skills Work Environment Reporting to the Party Chief / Field Coordinator, this position is responsible for assisting the Party Chief in carrying out survey tasks safely and effectively. The role requires working 100% on-site, following contract documents and policies. Overtime is not required, but available if desired. The company has a stable backlog of work and is involved in major projects with state highway administration. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
