Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco overlooks Yerba Buena Gardens and is located just steps away from the financial district, Union Square shopping, the Moscone Convention Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Contemporary Jewish Museum, amid the city's finest cultural and dining venues.

We are actively seeking an experienced professional to manage our dynamic Room Service department.

The Role - Overview

The Room Service Manager must supervise the consistency, quality and efficiency of food and beverage service and amenities for the hotel’s guest rooms & suites. 

       

Essential Functions
This list is not all –inclusive and should only be used as an overview of all actual responsibility.

Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.

Be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.

Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.

Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.

Establish budgets for the Room Service and Stewarding departments, communicating these to the team and implementing strategies to achieve daily targets.

Coordinates delivery of F&B items and amenities to the guestroom by Room Service Servers in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality; properly and accurately closes guest checks; records guest charges and gratuities

Ensures proper table set-up and make adjustments as needed

Takes guest orders in the absence of order takers

Supports the entire Food and Beverage operation, including supervising other areas if necessary

Achieve revenue and profit targets, participate in drafting and implementation of the marketing plan, drive up selling programs

Inspect and ensure the work area is in good condition at all times and up to date with Ecosure requirements

Completes special projects as instructed

Qualifications & Experience

Viable candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience managing a department (preferably two) in a high volume, luxury environment.  Union management experience a plus.

Knowledge of point-of-sales systems required.  Symphony, Micros, preferred.

Innovative and creative individuals with an eye for detail and ability to connect with guests and provide a Four Seasons Local Experience highly desired.

With creativity, candidates must possess the ability to develop and implement ideas to maximize revenue.

Candidates with a degree in culinary, hospitality, or similar, are preferred and will receive priority consideration.

Ability to quickly and positively establish rapport is required.

Above average communication skills - both written and oral - are required.

Current Four Seasons employees, bilingual candidates and those with prior experience in a luxury hotel/environment will receive priority consideration.

A creative mind with a passion to be ahead of trends is essential.

Requires a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and be visible in the operation during key events and operational needs.

What to Expect:

Salary Range: $75K to $78K
