Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Orleans is seeking a Room Service Order Taker/Coordinator to join our dynamic Food & Beverage Team.
The In-Room Dining Cashier is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our ever-discriminating guests. Always just a telephone call away, around the clock, the In-Room Dining team provides a wide selection of food and beverage options delivered to the comfort of guests’ rooms. The friendly and courteous voice of the In-Room Dining Team, the In-Room Dining Cashier receives all guests requests for an In-Room Dining experience. The In-Room Dining Cashier is an authority on all available food menus, including daily specials, alternative cuisine and all beverage lists. This position makes recommendations to accommodate guests’ preferences and dietary restrictions. The In-Room Dining Cashier oversees the entire sequence of service ensuring guest orders are correctly processed and carried out by the servers within the stated delivery time according to Four Seasons Standards.
What you will do:
Answer telephone using courteous, efficient telephone etiquette while obtaining all information necessary to process the guest’s order according to Four Seasons Standards, describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods.
Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; coordinate delivery of items to the guestroom by Room Service Servers in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality; properly and accurately close guest checks; record guest charges and gratuities.
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately.
Coordinate amenity deliveries by ensuring that all requests are received, filed, ordered from kitchen, and delivered in a prompt and accurate fashion.
Assume responsibility of department in the absence of a department manager
What you bring:
Knowledge of MICROS strongly preferred
Fluency in English reading, writing, and oral proficiency is required
One to two years’ experience working in Food & Beverage and customer service preferred
Ability to work independently in the absence of a manager
Detail-Oriented, Highly Organized, Ability to multitask and independently solve problems
TIPS and ServSafe certifications required
Work authorization in the United States

This is a full-time, overnight position. Candidates must be able to work a flexible work schedule including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
