Room Service Supervisor

Job Specific

Performs departmental opening and closing dutiesMonitors and supervises department staffSchedules Star Service Delivery staff according to established guidelines and forecasted needsObtains Hospitality function sheets, coordinates activities as needed to ensure timely performance of all necessary duties.  Oversee all aspects of Hospitality Suite set up, service and breakdownOversees amenity preparation and delivery, monitors in-house VIP’s to ensure satisfactionSupervises completion of required set up / preparation, at beginning of shift and clean up restocking at end of shiftInspects all equipment prior to, during and at end of shift, reports any needed repairs to supervisorInventories supplies at beginning of shift, obtains supplies necessary to support forecasted level of businessCoordinates preparation of coffee as required throughout shiftEnsures trays and carts are reset as required throughout shiftChecks all Room Service Orders for accuracy and completeness prior to departing kitchenOversees/expedites Star Service requests to guest in a timely mannerMonitors/delivery, set up and service of Housekeeping related requests and Room Service orders in guest room.Ensures that proper charge authorization or payment for orders delivered is obtainedMonitors completion of departmental paperwork to ensure accuracyCoordinates pick up of soiled Room Service trays and carts from guestrooms and corridorsEnsures cleanliness of Room Service area and equipment Assigns and verifies completion of closing duties at end of shiftOversees all activities related to restocking of guestroom refreshment pantriesMonitors/maintains refreshment pantry product inventoryCoordinates maintenance of all guestroom refreshment pantries and restocking equipmentCoordinates pick up/processing/delivery of guest laundry valet ordersPerforms administrative functions for department in accordance with hotel standardsMaintains special service/amenity requests files and coordinates delivery of items requestedOversees/assists in set-up, delivery of service in Hospitality SuitesAttends meetings as required to communicate with personnel and stay current with pertinent hotel information and activitiesCoaches , counsels, trains, retrains employees as needed to ensure provision of superior levels of serviceOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalentOne plus years experience as Room Service Supervisor/Captain in high volume, quality hotel operationThorough knowledge of quality Room Service techniques and standardsFamiliar with all aspects of providing superior guest serviceExcellent computer skills, with knowledge of or ability to learn various hospitality software applications preferably HIS, Aloha, EspressoEffective organization, communication, leadership and management skillsAbility to lift and carry food service trays weighting 35+ poundsAbility to work flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays
