**Location: The Roper Learning Center - Farmfield Avenue Charleston, SC**
**Shift: Day shift 8:00am - 5:00pm**
**The Roper Learning Center is a child care center for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. It is open to the public, but this is primarily for the teammates of Roper St. Francis Healthcare.**
**Primary Function**
**The Program Director is responsible for all facets of the Center’s operation. Coordinates center activities and daily functions including but not restricted to planning, budgeting, implementing, organizing, and monitoring the quality educational program for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. The Program Director ensures that the Center meets all S.C. regulatory requirements and maintains ABC Quality rating.**
**Essential Job Functions**
**Develops and reviews all policies and procedures of the Roper Learning Center. Oversees recordkeeping systems essential to effective program operation.** **Reviews the department’s budget and ensures expenditures are maintained within the limits set by the operating budget. Maintains resources to meet the departments needs and within the budgeted expenditures.** **Manages waiting lists and maintains enrollment levels.** **Oversees compliance with SC Childcare Licensing regarding regulations, and DSS Fire Marshall and DHEC health requirements.** **Consults with RSFH departments to ensure best practices are followed for health, risk management and safety.** **Interviews, selects, and orients new staff.** **Supervises and provides continual feedback to staff on performance and counsels staff regarding policy and procedures.** **Communicates the mission, philosophy of the program and curriculum to parents, staff, and other stake holders. Provides training and coaching for groups and individual staff regarding developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum implementation and meeting ABC Quality standards.** **Monitors parent satisfaction and conducts parent meetings regarding child development concerns.** **Implements and monitors a quality developmentally appropriate program and curriculum that contributes to the growth and development of children while maintaining the center’s ABC Quality rating.** **Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the children served. Maintains awareness of issues, trends and practices in the child development and education fields on a national, state, and regional level.**
**Licensing/Certification**
**CPR and First Aid certification - National Safety Council (required)**
**Must be successfully completed within 90 days of employment.**
**Education**
**Bachelor’s in Education Early Childhood Education or a related field from an accredited college (required)**
**Master’s Early Childhood Education (preferred)**
**Work Experience**
**3 years teaching experience with children of infants and young children in an early childhood educational program/childcare center. (required)**
**3 years of recent experience supervising other staff. (required) Childcare center management experience preferred.**
