Job Duties
Position is responsible for providing direction to an hourly production crew of the Lincoln, NE Vegetable Oil Refinery. The candidate will coordinate communication, personnel, resources and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant during the shift. Must be able to communicate expectations and goals for safety, quality, productivity, reliability, environmental compliance and operating costs. Takes an active role in managing the shift and coaching employees to reach their fullest potential by providing feedback in a manner that is effective, consistent and fair. This position reports to the Refinery Superintendent.
RequirementsStrong commitment to safety, LOTO, and JSA useMust promote, train and supervise employees in all safety initiativesFamiliar with oil refining and GMP / Food Safety requirementsTake a hands-on active role in managing shift and employee performanceSupports and engages in ADM Performance Excellence effortsTroubleshooting skills and the ability to plan workDetail oriented with strong organizational and record keeping skillsExcellent communication (spoken and written), listening and teamwork skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, bending, kneeling, working with tools and work in extreme temperature conditionsRegular, prompt attendance and ability to work rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends and holidays, willing to accept after-hours call ins when necessaryComputer literate in Maximo, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and desire to enhance skills through education and trainingHigh school diploma or equivalent combined with 5 years’ experience in maintenance and or operationsLeadership experience, having direct experience in successfully leading changePassion for process improvementStrong interpersonal and conflict management/resolution skillsAble to represent management professionally and efficiently to internal/external customersResponsibilitiesOwnership for the safety of self and other team membersLOTO of equipment to be worked onAssignment of Jobs to personnelPrepare Permits / Check JSAsCheck on progress of jobsAnswer Personnel Questions – or find the information neededCommunicate with Maintenance / Help with Operation’s Maintenance IssuesCall in maintenance, management, commercial, or shift coverage help as neededWrite work orders in MaximoWork with maintenance supervision to minimize equipment down timeHelp diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issuesAssist in writing of JCCs and SOPs for production activitiesEnforce company plans, policies, and rulesLead team meetings and follow up on action itemsOther duties as assignedExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
