The Rotational Accounting Fellowship within the Vice President for Finance senior management area is a 12-month experiential learning and development opportunity for recent graduates or those new to Higher Education Administration. The Accounting Fellow will work in close collaboration with the managers within individual departments, which may include:
• General Accounting
• Accounting Operations
• Accounts Receivable
• Payroll
• Financial Reporting
• Accounts Payable
• Risk Management
The Accounting Fellow will spend an assigned amount of time in rotations with two or three of the operations listed above and have the opportunity to work on specific projects and assignments that will provide the Accounting Fellow an excellent understanding of the university’s financial operations and administrative functions. The Accounting Fellow will assist with special project assignments, which vary based on the unit’s role within the university. Projects may include the development of benchmark data, business analyses, presentations, reports, position papers, and more. As possible, the Office of the Vice President for Finance will work with the Accounting Fellow to establish a schedule of unit rotations and projects that align with the Accounting Fellow’s interests, strengths, and experiences.
For candidates who will hold a bachelor’s degree by December 31, 2024, the targeted start date is January 2025. For those graduating in May 2025, the targeted start date is in June 2025.
