The Webster Bank Rotational Program is an 18 month program designed to provide participants with progressively challenging work assignments in Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance. Program participants will acquire business unit and organizational knowledge, gain exposure to senior leadership, have access to a formal mentor, and accelerate their development at Webster through structured learning programs.
Rotational Program Start Date: July 8, 2025
Location: Southington, CT, White Plains, NY or Jericho, NY
Assignments Include:
Issues Management, Analysis, and Reporting
Risk Appetite Metric Development, Analysis and Reporting
Enterprise and Long-Range Plan Risk Assessment Support
Introduction to bank risk management, including first, second and third lines of defense, and the role of compliance in regulatory risk management
Resolve gaps and discrepancies in bank procedures and alignment to regulatory requirements
Analyze the impact of changes to laws, rules, and guidance from Webster’s primary regulator agencies
Assist in standardizing root cause analyses process for compliance issues
Rotate among Compliance Assurance for testing exposure, Compliance Advisory and Governance for complaint reporting, and regulatory relations to systemize exam trackers
Develop presentations to support the Regulatory Compliance Committee
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Rotational:
Recent bachelor’s degree graduate from an accredited college or university in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is required with a desired GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Interested in the banking and financial services industry and/or want to develop skills needed in Webster’s various lines of business (i.e., IT, Finance, Bank Operations.)
Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Candidates should be able to create and use PivotTables, utilize the VLOOKUP function, and create graphs and charts in Excel. Candidates should be able to utilize PowerPoint to create presentations complete with analytical charts and graphics.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to task switch; strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities.
Must be a flexible, independent team player with a positive attitude and willingness to step-in and provide support as needed.
Effectively engage and communicate with colleagues while working remotely.
Ability to prioritize projects and tasks.
Day to day tasks may include performing testing, controls, and procedures on special projects.
Risk Managment Specific: Mathematical/statistical skills desirable.
Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical skills.
Optional: A letter of recommendation from a professor or supervisor and/or an essay of approximately 500 words describing your career ambitions and why you are interested in this program.
The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 USD to $80,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
