The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

Employs flight test methodologies to conduct test flights in accordance with the Maintenance Test Flight Checklist, assessing aircraft performance and handling to evaluate airworthiness after maintenance or modifications.

Key Responsibility

Conduct test flights and demonstrate aircraft proficiency upon completion of maintenance or modifications.Perform duties as a Line Pilot in Command. Analyze meteorological data for filing a flight plan for the required navigational course of a mission or sortie. File flight plans for all flights using approved navigational processes. Calculate weight and balance logs for the aircraft being flown.Initiate and complete all flight or maintenance forms to document maintenance test flight completion and note any discrepancies. Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to communicate, troubleshoot, and advise.Assess the airworthiness of aircraft according to relevant publications and procedures before releasing them for flight. Perform recovery flights and ferry aircraft to additional sites as required. Troubleshoot aircraft on the ground and during flight, making necessary write-ups or giving verbal instructions to correct deficiencies. Conduct aircraft run-ups as required for maintenance actions. Be capable of performing Aircraft Technical Inspection TI as an additional duty. Plan and conduct detailed aircraft technical inspections. Provide technical guidance on aircraft and subsystem maintenance techniques and safety procedures.Perform travel as required Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificate Rotorcraft Helicopter.FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.Documented civil or military Maintenance test pilot, Functional Check Pilot course completion.1,500 total rotary wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time.Night Vision Goggle NVG qualified and 300 hours of NVG experience.50 hours Maintenance test pilot, Functional Check Pilot time.Conversant in English.

Preferred:

Prior US Military MP-ME pilot and or support on the DoS INLA programQualification in the applicable aircraft.
