Rough Cut Capacity Senior Planner

The Rough Cut Capacity Sr. Planner is responsible for evaluating and managing mid-to-long-term supply chain capacity to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and business objectives. In this role the individual will lead the company in implementing and engaging in a rough cup capacity management program to drive a constrained forecast back through the MRP system. Knowledge of safety stocks and inventory management will serve as a cornerstone for success in this role with a steady focus on service and cost. Project Management and Data analysis will also be a must to uncover new opportunities for improvement and implement solutions. This role involves analyzing supply constraints, optimizing resource allocation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support planning and execution as part of the S&OP cycles

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Develop and maintain rough cut capacity plans to assess production capabilities against unconstrained demand forecasts

Collaborate with Demand Planning, Production, Purchasing, and other stakeholders to ensure capacity constraints are identified and addressed proactively

Understand and provide visibility on theoretical vs. demonstrated capacity to determine constraints that require resolution and escalation

Plan different scenarios as part of the S&OP cycle

Identify gaps between supply plan and financial targets

Support level-loading decisions with the manufacturing facilities

Support the development of the RCCP process, including partnership with APS

Conduct training, testing and issue resolution for queries related to planning processes and tools

Understand, make recommendations and in some cases complete data updates in the MRP system

Collaborate with in-house IT team or external vendor for resolution, enhancement and addition of planning tools capability

Contribute to projects by playing the role of subject matter expert

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Operations required

Master's Degree in Supply Chain or Operations preferred

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

5+ years experience in supply chain planning in a multi-site manufacturing environment

Experienced in identifying and analyzing issues, making recommendations and implementing solutions

Experience using ERP and APS (Advanced Planning Solutions). Anaplan experience preferred, but not required

Ability to independently manage a project from inception to implementation

Ability to work cross-functionally

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with cross-functional teams

Ability to manage multiple priorities and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment

Eagerness to explore system changes with various teams while having fun

Knowledge of lean systems is a plus

APICS certification is a plus
