The Route Delivery Driver Lead functions as the leader for the Route Sales Drivers within its district. The Route Delivery Driver Lead supervises the daily activities of delivery drivers, ensures DOT compliance and the efficiency of the department by actively engaging in the routing, standardization, and training of the drivers to aid in the distribution of all company products in a safe manner. 

Qualifications Associate’s degree in related field highly preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent requiredFour years prior supervisory experience requiredWorking knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology, highly preferred

Other Functions:

Must be able to operate manual transmissions.Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data requiredMust be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as requiredMust be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast paced environmentStrong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is requiredMust exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and develop team membersMust be able to work in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors and on refrigerated trucks

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motionMust be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

 Class A or B commercial driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement required (must also possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with FMCSA Part 391.41 prior to operating a commercial motor vehicle for Borden Dairy Company) Responsibilities

The Route Delivery Driver Lead will be responsible for the following duties:

Supervise, lead, and mentor Route Sales RepresentativesProvide assistance to the Distribution Manager as it relates to training, improving efficiency of distribution operations, data evaluation, effective and efficient utilization of equipment, and route optimizationPrioritize Route Sales Representative workload, assisting Distribution Manager in scheduling and assessing performanceUtilizing continuous improvement mindset, identify and implement opportunities to improve processesComply with and enforce all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulationsUse and enforce use of all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulationsDevelop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership teamPartner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals Options Apply for this job onlineApplyShareEmail this job to a friendRefer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
