Route Driver
 

As a route driver, you will help transport individuals with disabilities using organization vehicles (wheelchair accessible passenger van and/or mini bus). Transportation includes picking up and dropping off consumers from their homes and the Vodec Center. Additionally, staff will assist consumers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.

Responsibilities and Duties

Drive vehicle to transport consumers over specified routesFollow the local (and/or rural route) of transportation as assigned by your supervisorComplete transportation schedules within appropriate time framesPerform simple vehicle emergency functions (change tires, seek help and assistance)Report delays or accidents according to the organization’s policiesRegulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfortAssist passengers on and off the vehicleInspect vehicle and maintains adequate fluid levels

Qualifications Include

Must be at least 19 years of ageSatisfactory driving record (no more than three moving violations in the most recent 36-month period)Valid driver’s license appropriate for vehicle type being required to operateMust be able to pass a background check
