General NotesThe Information Security Office (ISO) assures the security of the university's Information Technology (IT) resources and the existence of a safe computing environment in which the university community can teach, learn, and conduct research. As part of ISO, the University of Texas Regional Security Operations Center (UT RSOC) will be focused on delivering a variety of cybersecurity services to various non-profit and/or government funded entities throughout the state (e.g., ISDs, municipalities) to raise awareness, improve security posture and resilience, etc. for entities that otherwise might not have much to work with. The UT RSOC will also provide a fantastic new experiential learning space for students to both provide important cybersecurity services across the state and develop valuable, concentrated cybersecurity experience for their futures and serve as an anchor for an eventual applied cybersecurity degree program. This position is funded by a grant from the State of Texas. Continued funding beyond the term of the grant is expected but is not guaranteed beyond 8/31/2026.

The Project Coordinator for the UT RSOC builds partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and municipalities to expand RSOC’s impact. They ensure partners benefit from services, organize outreach events, manage public relations, and promote education, fostering community engagement and statewide cybersecurity awareness.
ResponsibilitiesCustomer Success and Engagement. Serve as the primary contact for RSOC partner organizations, ensuring smooth onboarding and effective use of services. Develop strategies to measure and communicate service impact, gather feedback for improvement, and pursue market opportunities. Foster stakeholder relationships and align efforts with organizational needs and best practices.Outreach, Partnerships, and Market Expansion. Identify and build relationships with nonprofits, government-funded organizations, and educational institutions across Texas to promote RSOC services. Create impactful content, coordinate efforts with Texas-based RSOCs, and organize outreach events to engage communities. Seek partnerships and market opportunities aligned with RSOC’s mission.Community Engagement and K-12 Initiatives. Conduct research to identify growth opportunities and trends, leading initiatives to engage K-12 schools and promote cybersecurity education. Collaborate with RSOC student employees to deliver workshops and events like Cybersecurity Days or hackathons, inspiring students and creating educational materials for community outreach.Onboarding and Support. Create and manage a thorough onboarding process for new partners to ensure smooth integration with RSOC services. Coordinate tailored training and support resources to help partners effectively use RSOC tools. Provide ongoing guidance to address challenges and enhance their security posture for long-term success.Collaboration and Reporting. Collaborate with the RSOC Manager, engineers, and staff to align outreach efforts with operational goals. Generate detailed reports on outreach activities, customer success metrics, and the impact of RSOC services. Present results to the RSOC Manager and stakeholders, ensuring all efforts support strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement.Other related functions as assigned.Required QualificationsU.S. Citizen, resident, or officially recognized asylee - Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.Minimum of 3 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, or customer success, preferably within technology, educational settings, or similar fields, with a proven ability to foster positive community relationships and ensure stakeholder value.Strong understanding of technical concepts, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex information to non-technical audiences across various community and organizational settings.Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, from educational institutions and public sector organizations to local communities.Experience in organizing and leading community initiatives or youth-focused outreach programs, with a focus on promoting awareness and education.Proven organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team.Proficiency in data collection and analysis, including experience with CRM systems, institutional databases, or data analysis tools to track outreach effectiveness and optimize engagement strategies.

Salary Range
$90,000 + depending on qualifications
