Overview We are seeking a full-time Runway Desk Support Specialist 1 in our Scottsdale, AZ location. In this role, you will be responsible for making important contributions to Garmin’s aircraft performance data products by analyzing data and feeding relevant information and solutions into our systems and databases. Essential Functions Provide 24/7 operational support and collaborate with airports and/or customers to ensure accuracy of information and proactively identify, report, and find effective solutions to issues Monitor all incoming and active NOTAMs (Notice of Airmen) for airports identified in runway database Analyze NOTAMs/other data sources in order to maintain currency of runway database Analyze incoming airport/runway data and filter appropriate information to pilots through NOTAM and into our aircraft performance systems/databases Collaborate with airports or customers to ensure accuracy of information Make decisions on priority and pertinence of information as it relates to aircraft performance Proactively identify and report issues, working to identify solutions to aircraft performance Establish relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin team members to achieve goals/objectives Provide afterhours support related responses and can initially join customer teleconference bridges Conduct initial aircraft setup for AeroData solutions (Basic Build – New Tools) Review emails to determine and provide solution or escalate to other applicable teams Create tasks for Flight Operations customer support requests via the ticket system Join evening deployment calls and determine if issues arise and escalate as appropriate Conduct initial triage of customer solutions and use internal tools to help identify issue Assist in maintenance of the Airport and Runway Database Provide great customer and operational input to other Garmin teams to help improve Customer Experience May be required to be on call as needed and work rotating shifts Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree in a business or technical discipline AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline OR substantial demonstrated aeronautical knowledge that would allow the associate to complete the essential functions of the position Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Ability to build relationships across departments and interact efficiently with customers across the globe Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Understands escalation procedures for service outages and/or customer concerns Ability to set up Microsoft Teams live events and send out Customer Advisory Notices (MIM) Possess a critical eye for fine details in both quantitative/qualitative process/procedures Must be detail/solution oriented, organized, proactive and a driven problem solver with exceptional technical troubleshooting skills and a multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite Demonstrates familiarity with aeronautical source data for the analysis being conducted Proficiency in numerical and arithmetic application for the role: Compiling data, using numbers in various formats, and utilizing this information to perform job-appropriate problem-solving and data entry Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical discipline Private Pilot License Previous work experience in air traffic control or in aircraft dispatch Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
