COMPENSATION: $51,790.00 to $95,645.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
Our Rural 1st Construction Specialist Specialist provides exceptional, first-level, internal and external customer service by activating construction loans and timely and accurately disbursing funds throughout the construction process. Team members in this role work closely with borrowers, lenders, builders, subcontractors and suppliers, efficiently moving construction loans through the process in accordance with stated Rural 1st guidelines.
This position requires existing NMLS registration under the SAFE Act, or the ability to obtain the same upon hire, and maintenance of a status in good standing during employment.
How You Will Spend Your Time Establishes, develops, and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough, responsive, and exceeds customer expectations. Enters new construction loans in the consumer construction loan disbursement system. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up loan budget; reviewing data input for accuracy and verifying the new loan set up line item budgets are in accordance with approval. Sets up construction loan disbursement files; works with the customer and builder to set expectations and build relationships throughout the construction process. Timely processes all construction loan disbursements. Reviews, analyzes and disburses construction loan draws per stated guidelines and with appropriate approval(s). Obtains change orders for each draw request to verify collateral is correct. Approves draw request in the consumer construction loan disbursement system. Orders third party inspection reports; balances borrower’s construction loan budget against lender records and borrower’s time frame. Monitors timeliness of receipt and approval of inspection and documentation for each file draw. Schedules and inputs all disbursement transactions and requests into the system. Prepares and presents disbursement documentation from the system; monitors and balances disbursement report. Monitors interest reserve adequacy on all accounts; assures accurate billing if and when interest reserves are exhausted. Monitors use of borrower’s soft cost funds and disburses funds on borrower’s behalf. Calculates the disbursement draw funding to the specific line item in the budget, identifying insufficient funds in the budget line item as well as the overall budget and obtaining appropriate approval for budget change request. Maintains current property and general liability insurance for all files. Scans and saves all disbursement documentation in the document repository system. Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to manage the servicing of loan portfolio. Runs and tracks reports for loan progress and status; verifies adequate insurance and fees have been communicated to the customer, takes appropriate action to keep files moving efficiently. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers; works in accordance with department guidelines and association core values. Adheres to compliance standards for all processes and procedures for assigned job function and designated responsibilities. Minimum Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED required. 4-6 years experience in customer or financially related services. This level demonstrates ability to become fully functional through training and job experience.
