PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Responsible for implementation and administration of regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance and accident prevention programs for the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitors the policies and programs directed to protect the human and physical resources of the company and the communities involved.
Assists in establishing and enforcing management policies on safety and compliance.
Communicates new or pending regulations to management with follow-up to insure the company and employees are in compliance with all regulations.
Follows established audit procedures and programs that effectively monitor the performance and compliance levels of the company.
Performs regular inspections of company facilities and equipment.
Files written reports to notify Division Manager of findings during audits and inspections.
Makes recommendations to improve the compliance of all operations and equipment. Follows through to ensure correction of all safety hazards.
Conducts accident investigations and develops procedures for prevention, correction and compliance.
Provides effective training for company employees to perform tasks in compliance with established safety, health, regulatory and environmental requirements.
Evaluates and recommends the need for additional training and compliance programs, and develops such programs.
Conducts or assists in training of employees to protect the resources of the community and the company.
Maintains safety, emergency, and personal protective equipment inventories.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Chairs company safety committee meetings and oversees specific programs such as first aid and fire prevention.
Attends regional Environmental, Health, Safety and Insurance compliance meetings presented by the GROWMARK Safety and Insurance Services Department, works with GROWMARK staff Safety Specialists, and uses materials developed by GROWMARK to promote and achieve compliance throughout the company.
Maintains working relationships with and provides support for local regulatory and service agencies.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Technology, Environmental or related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to meet or exceed the essential job function requirements.
Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight.
Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
Required to be knowledgeable in all areas of regulatory compliance which includes local, state and federal regulations through agencies including, but not limited to: EPA, OSHA, DOT, DOA, and NFPA/Fire Marshal.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
