Summary of the Position:

The Safety Administrative Coordinator serves as a resource and liaison for safety programs. The person in this position is responsible for communicating relevant information with supervisors and employees. This role will assist in reviewing procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents, or ergonomic factors in the workplace.

Ensures continuous safety improvement of facility issues through daily walks of the facility and coordination with safety committee members, maintenance, and sanitation.

Assists in investigations and reporting process as it relates to workers compensation claims and accidents that cause damage to plant property/equipment. Assists in identifying causes to determine how similar accidents might be prevented in the future.

Monitors and reviews accident investigation reports and ensures appropriate follow up. Participates in claim reviews. Tracks incident metrics and applies findings in procedure updates.

Assists in safety training documentation, monthly safety meetings, and safety communication boards and postings.

Reviews and updates employees’ communications and medical notes into safety system to include applicable internal documents and communications with workman’s compensation adjuster.

Oversees purchase orders for the safety team.

Review/Update and create PIT Records and licensure.

Keep accurate record of inventory to prevent stock outs especially when it may induce line downtime.

Qualifications:

 

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

1-2 years of direct safety experience.2 years of experience in Manufacturing environment, preferred.Food processing experience and GMP knowledge a plus.Experience in training safety programs and coaching skills.

 

Skills and Competencies:

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Good communication skills and the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers/department leaders is necessary.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to utilize data and information to generate and execute improvements.Must be able to handle multiple priorities and re-prioritize as needed.Must be organized and able to maintain accurate and complete records.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
