Position Overview:
Siemens Rolling Stock is seeking a Safety and Regulations Manager for Passenger Cars and Trainsets. This position will functionally report to the Vice President of Coaches and Trainsets and is in Sacramento, California.
Safety The Safety and Regulations Manager is responsible for managing all Siemens activities that lead to the successful safety certification of Siemens rolling stock. This includes overseeing all safety-relevant workstreams, being aware of potential issues or delays, and providing lessons learned from similar platform projects. The manager also provides safety status reports to Project Management, handles all safety-related administrative tasks, and interfaces with external parties. Additionally, they are responsible for non-standard, customer-specific safety or regulatory documentation, planning and tracking their tasks, writing and aligning the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) with stakeholders, and reviewing Hazard Tracking Logs (HTLs) and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Fault Tree Analyses (FTA) or other safety documentation from Engineering.
Product Safety The manager provides semi-annual internal product safety presentations to increase awareness and knowledge of product safety incidents and processes. They monitor and review the status of new and ongoing safety-related incidents, highlight potential issues and delays, and support employees in following the product safety processes established by Siemens Business Excellence & Quality Management (BE&QM).
Regulations The manager monitors and reviews changes in regulations, highlights potential issues or delays, and is responsible for all safety-relevant submittals to authorities to obtain necessary approvals for safety certification. They have advanced knowledge of all safety-related regulations and oversee corresponding workstreams, providing lessons learned from similar platform projects.

This position is based in Sacramento, CA. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
