As the Safety and Security Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day safety functions that keep the park running smoothly. Job Summary: This position involves overseeing security operations at an assigned location with a focus on training, coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols. Key duties include managing security staff, conducting audits, maintaining communication with various departments, and implementing safety and environmental practices while prioritizing guest service. Responsibilities Responsible for the oversight of the security operation for a single location within the park. Ensure all security employees receive appropriate training for their position to include: basic first aid, CPR, and AED use to all security staff members, and ensure this training is in line with guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association. Work through Location Management to coordinate and complete all drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy and all applicable state and federal laws. Coordinate with the Security Lead to ensure that all pre-opening and monthly safety inspections are completed in a timely manner. Review and archive, on a daily basis, security logs and incident reports and follow up on any issues that remain unresolved or require additional investigation. Establish and maintain on-going communication with the Security Leads, Location Management, HR Managers, Security Support Staff, and other location department managers. Monitor and react to payroll on a daily basis, order general office, and first aid supplies through the warehouse. Interview current employees who have expressed interest in transferring into the security department, and coordinate the transfer of qualified security candidates. Audit performance of the Supervisor(s) using tools such as the HIG (How’s It Going?) form, and determine what action needs to be taken – coaching, mentoring, retraining, etc. Act as an ERO (Emergency Response Organization) member while on duty. Participate and present at Employee Orientations regarding the security functions. Responsible for setting security staff schedules for location assigned. Qualifications Must have previous experience in a supervisory or management position preferably in the Security, Loss Prevention, Fire or EMS fields. Must demonstrate maturity, a professional demeanor, good judgement, diplomacy, objectivity, and sound conflict/crisis intervention and problem-solving skills. Must maintain positive employee relations and morale, setting a good example in attitude and personal actions to promote teamwork at all times. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel). Must have the ability to learn company computer programs for incident reports, daily logs, payroll and ordering supplies. Must review daily logs and incident reports for content, clarity and completeness, including grammar. Must be able to obtain BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) certification and be trained in oral drug and alcohol testing procedures. (Paid training available through Xanterra). Must have the ability to present training topics to Security Staff and other departments or employees. Must be able to effectively perform duties in highly stressful or crisis situations and work under pressure without the loss of composure. Must be able to delegate daily tasks and shift-work for regular completion. Must maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Must be able to coach and mentor staff on a regular basis throughout season and provide for training opportunities and feedback. Must have strong organizational skills, handle multiple, high priority projects with keen attention to detail, including the ability to write, clear, concise, and detailed reports. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age when they begin employment and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. All security staff members must be prepared to work nights, swings, and rotating schedules. All must be proficient in typing, have basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and out look, typing at least 30 wpm), and have strong written and verbal communication skills. All security staff members must be prepared to use first aid, CPR and using an AED machine (training provided). Must have or be able to obtain CPR, first aid, and AED certification through the American Heart Association. (Paid training available through Xanterra). Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively via two-way radio,cell-phone and any other means with a diverse population. Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the assigned location, established policies, procedures and location specific duties. Physical Requirements include: Must be willing and able to work any shift (day, afternoon, and overnight). Must be able to work continuously up to twelve hours and, must be able to work a rotating schedule or swing shifts. Requires frequent standing and foot patrol for up to twelve hours. and requires occasional climbing, sitting, stooping, bending, and/or kneeling. Must be able to respond in a safe and prompt manner to emergency situations. This may require jogging long distances as well as climbing multiple flights of stairs while carrying a fire extinguisher. Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds without assistance. Ability to lift more than 40 pounds with assistance. Must be able to shovel snow/gravel during times of inclement weather. Requires the ability to operate a snowmobile. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds infrequently (e.g. assist emergency medical personnel with loading/unloading patients into and out of ambulances).
