Safety Compliance Coordinator - Driver Compliance
Position: Safety Compliance Coordinator, Driver Compliance Job Description: The Safety Compliance Coordinator, Driver Compliance will be required to sustain the company’s safety rating and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and company standards. Ensure driver qualification files are in compliance with DOT and company policy. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended. Core Duties & Responsibilities: + Ensure appropriate insurance requirements are met for contractors + Activate and place in compliance review drivers, tractors and contractors in the various safety and operations systems and ensure O/O insurance binders are activated and cancelled in accordance with status changes + Communicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations + Complete necessary employment verifications, contact attempts and account for gaps in driver qualification files + Ensure that all initial compliance items (license status, DOT physical and DOT physical self-certification) are up-to-date + Distribute self-certification physical report/update to all operations groups + Transfer drivers from various statuses between company subsidiary motor carriers. + Other duties as assigned Requirements: + Knowledge of the trucking industry + Understanding of the FMCSA rules and regulations + Computer proficiency + Ability to manage multiple projects + Requires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasks + Must be familiar with standard DOT or Agency Compliance concepts, practices, and procedures + Ability to work independently as well as with others + Must be willing to work a flexible schedule Skills: + Ideal candidate will possess a “can do" attitude with a “will do" work ethic + Knowledge of standard DOT Compliance concepts, practices, & procedures + Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment + Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus + Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer. #IND About Us Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
