Safety Coordinator

Our client, a prominent cosmetic brand in Cranbury, NJ, is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join their team. Responsibilities:

Conduct weekly inspections to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety across all work areas, ensuring the well-being of employees, machinery, and safety equipment.Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to evaluate onsite processes for potential hazards through Job Hazard Analysis and PPE Hazard Assessments.Implement site-specific hazard control and mitigation methods, procedures, and programs.Coordinate and conduct mandatory safety training for all shifts and departments, covering both new hires and recurring training for all employees and contractors.Maintain comprehensive safety training records, certifications, incident reports, and OSHA logs.Ensure compliance with the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and OSHA requirements, including proper PPE usage, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and permit execution for confined spaces and hot work.Assist the Health and Safety Manager in meeting OSHA, state, and local regulatory requirements.Support safety-related regulatory audits and inspections.Assist supervisors and managers with incident investigations, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of reports.Collaborate with the Human Resources Business Partner and onsite Operations Management regarding incidents involving injuries, illnesses, and Workers' Comp claims.Work with quality, operations, and maintenance teams on various projects.Liaise with site management to deliver educational safety information and updates.Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks as needed across all shifts and departments.Prepare monthly safety statistics and reports for the Health & Safety Manager.

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.Minimum of 2 years of safety experience preferred.Relevant safety certifications (e.g., First Aid Trainer, Forklift Trainer, OSHA 30 within the last 2 years) preferred.Flexibility with work schedule.Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
