Safety Coordinator

Job Description

1. Safety Compliance and Monitoring:
  •  Assist in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and standards specific to the food manufacturing industry.
  •  Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  •  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
2. Training and Education:
  •  Facilitate safety training programs for new and existing employees, ensuring they understand and comply with safety protocols.
  •  Develop and update safety training materials and manuals in both English and the second language.
  •  Act as a resource for employees seeking information or clarification on safety procedures.
3. Incident Reporting and Investigation:
  •  Record and report safety incidents and near-misses in a timely and accurate manner.
  •  Assist in investigating incidents to determine root causes and develop recommendations for prevention.
  •  Prepare detailed reports and documentation for management review.
4. Safety Program Implementation:
  •  Support the implementation and enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
  •  Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and suggest improvements based on feedback and observations.
  •  Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
5. Communication and Coordination:
  •  Act as a liaison between management and employees to promote a culture of safety.
  •  Translate safety-related documents and communications to ensure clear understanding across all language groups.
  •  Organize and participate in safety meetings and briefings, both in English and the second language.
6. Record Keeping and Documentation:
  •  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
  •  Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements as outlined by regulatory agencies.
7. Emergency Preparedness:
  •  Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
  •  Conduct regular drills and simulations to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
8. Continuous Improvement:
  •  Stay informed about industry trends, new safety technologies, and changes in regulations.
  •  Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions based on safety observations.
9. Multilingual Support:
  •  Provide bilingual support to ensure effective communication between English-speaking and non-English-speaking employees.
  •  Translate safety communications and training materials as needed to ensure inclusivity and understanding.
10. Compliance with Company Policies:
  •  Adhere to company policies and procedures while performing safety coordination tasks.
  •  Assist in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment that aligns with company values and goals.
This role requires strong communication skills in both languages, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a safe working environment in a food manufacturing setting.
