Job Description
As a Safety Coordinator, you will be a coach and motivator of people, inspiring by example with an unwavering commitment to safety. You will support business plan goals by monitoring tasks to ensure they are achieved, and ensure consistent and professional communication and appearance with all levels of management, associates, customers, and local jurisdictions. You will assist in safety incident classification, investigation methodologies, root cause analyses, and corrective action development. You must be detail-oriented, consistently meet commitments, and possess good time management and planning skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
ResponsibilitiesWork with vendors and internal customers to coordinate and conduct safety trainings.Coordinate with national sites to ensure and support program compliance.Review documentation and log trainings.Identify and implement countermeasures for deficiencies.Travel, including some overnight, to local and national facilities to perform safety audits and various inspections.Lead and support the identification and implementation of countermeasure activities.Respond to OSHA inspections and provide guidance and recommendations as appropriate.Update the safety manual as changes in law requirements occur.Perform monthly checks of eye wash stations, emergency showers, fire extinguishers, etc.Oversee the completion of the OSHA 300 logs and BLS surveys.Review incident reports and meeting summaries of various local safety committees to monitor for trends and issues.Assist peers, other departments, and local jurisdictions with safety projects and/or inquiries.Essential SkillsProficiency in safety management and compliance.Experience with OSHA regulations, including OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 certifications.Strong safety training skills.Knowledge of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) practices.Excellent time management and planning abilities.Attention to detail and consistent follow-through on commitments.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a Safety Coordinator.Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic environment, requiring travel, including some overnight trips, to various local and national facilities to perform safety audits and inspections. You will ensure program compliance and provide safety training, responding to OSHA inspections and updating safety manuals as laws change. You will perform regular safety checks and oversee documentation, including OSHA logs and BLS surveys. The role demands consistent professional communication and appearance, with a focus on safety and compliance.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.11/hr.
