Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
Responsible for supporting and assisting the EHS Manager with safety initiatives within the plant.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists EHS Manager in delivering in-house training programs in various areas.Supports EHS Manager in facilitating work instruction meetings, training sessions and other focus groups as requested.Maintains work instruction file database and creates/revises work instructions as necessary. Assists in coordinating the Franklin Safety Program and is an active member of the Safety Committee.Follows-up on safety concerns and works with departments to rectify safety hazards. Completes safety audit on monthly basis and follows-up on items identified on such audits or those submitted by committee members.Performs periodic safety-related audits/inspections and prepares action plans.Plan, develop, deliver, and coordinate effective EHS training to plant employees, temporary workers, contractors, and visitors, as necessary, to satisfy regulatory and company EHS requirements and assure proper EHS awareness.Supports the EHS Manager in the incident investigation process.Performs risk assessments and job safety analysis as needed.Collaborates with appropriate department personnel to resolve identified hazards.Maintains plant EHS communications.Performs other safety related duties/assignments as deemed necessary or requested by the EHS Manager.Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices and any other applicable Prerequisite Programs associated with the Food Safety SystemUnderstands and follows EHS policies and requirements specified in applicable EHS documents.Ability to locate and retrieve applicable system documents.Assists in the New Hire Orientation processMaintain records, data and other EHS related information necessary to satisfy legislative and company requirements.Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Safety Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalentOutstanding written and oral communication and presentation skillsAbility to effectively communicate with plant and corporate personnelDemonstrated knowledge and application of various computer software and training programsAbility to travel up to 20%Competencies:
