This role is crucial in ensuring the safety of our operations, focusing on transportation management and driver safety. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting a culture of safety and have a strong background in safety management within the transportation or logistics industry. Key Responsibilities: + Safety Management:Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Continuously evaluate operational practices to minimize risks and prevent accidents. + Incident Investigation:Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, analyze root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Maintain detailed records of incidents and report findings to relevant stakeholders. + Training & Development:Conduct safety training sessions for employees, ensuring all team members are aware of safety protocols and best practices. Develop and update training materials to reflect current safety standards and procedures. + Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all operations are compliant with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Stay updated on changes to safety laws and regulations, and adjust company policies accordingly. + Risk Assessment:Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks and improve overall safety performance. + Note: Candidates must reside within commuting distance from the Fort Lauderdale area. Candidates currently residing in the Fort Lauderdale/ Miami area will be given priority consideration. Requirements Qualifications: + Proven experience insafety management,3 plus years within a large scale transportation or logistics industry business + Multi site -B2B or B2C business preferred. + Experience in a fast paced start up a plus + Strong knowledge of safety protocols, transportation management systems, and driver safety management tools- Federal DOT requirements. + Knowledge of Dash Cam and GPS tracking systems ( Rhino, Samsara, Linxup) + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to lead and influence safety culture across an organization. + Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor employees. + Travel:This position requires up to 70 % Travel Salary Description $100,000-$135,0000
