Job Title: Safety Engineer
Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Safety Engineer where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and health standards of our state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing launch, implementing safety systems, and driving safety compliance.

ResponsibilitiesSupport the completion of Facilities Equipment Commissioning.Participate in onsite launch activities including ProTag.Develop Task Based Risk Assessment through Job Safety Analysis and standardized work instructions.Identify appropriate PPE.Support adoption and implementation of the Safety Operating System.Drive the Safety Operating System (SOS) process by establishing and maintaining engaged and knowledgeable Element Champions.Facilitate daily SOS and monthly Safety Process Review Board Meetings.Deliver annual facility H&S Goals and objectives to the workforce.Ensure adherence through data analysis and auditing results.Develop specific safety and health standards including Injury/Illness/Near Miss investigation, Energy Control and Power Lockout, Hazard Communication/Global Harmonized System, High Risk Maintenance Tasks, and Process Safety Management.Support implementation of the Maintenance Tracking System as it pertains to the Safety Operating System.Develop a system for coordinating, tracking, and auditing Work Permits.Support Manufacturing Learning and Development in the identification and facilitation of the Training Management System.Facilitate site-specific health and safety training and new employee orientation.Monitor and drive to 100% completion for all required H&S Training.Act as Subject Matter Expert in safety topics, including national safety regulations.Support and participate in Manage the Change processes to ensure safety compliance.Ensure effective auditing, observations, and reporting of compliance with safety standards and procedures.Participate in the plant's Emergency Response Plan Process, annual response training drills, and facilitate Emergency Response Team meetings.Liaise effectively with Statutory Authorities, OSHA, OHS Representatives, Operations Leadership, Medical, and plant floor teams.Essential Skills2-5 years of experience in Safety Engineer or EHS Engineer role.Process safety management experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, or related field.Preferred Industrial or Manufacturing Safety experience.CSP certification (Certified Safety Professional) preferred.Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled processing and assembly facility, which is one of the largest battery manufacturing facilities in the United States. This is a unique opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Blue Oval provides variety of benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance. May also provide relocation assistance depending on location and other factors.
