Safety Engineer
Job Title: Construction Safety Engineer (CSE) Job Description The Construction Safety Engineer (CSE) will oversee safety operations for the sound wall repair project in the Sterling VA area. The role involves conducting daily safety inspections, managing accident and incident investigations, and ensuring all safety standards are met throughout the project’s duration. Responsibilities + Investigate all accidents and incidents under the direction of the Construction Safety Manager (CSM). Implement immediate corrective actions and prepare detailed reports to be submitted within 24 hours. + Conduct daily safety inspections on the construction site and submit daily and weekly safety reports for review. + Provide training materials and conduct weekly 'toolbox' safety meetings for foremen and staff, ensuring compliance and participation. + Immediately address unsafe conditions or practices and take corrective action. Document violations with photographic evidence and report findings. + Ensure first aid supplies are available and personnel are qualified to administer first aid as required. Maintain updated emergency contact information. + Ensure proper protective equipment and tools are provided and used correctly by all employees. + Be present for all subsurface utility location sweeps and attend excavation survey walks. Review contract drawings and GIS reports before excavation work begins. + Submit completed monthly safety reports, including project man-hours and injury statistics, by the 10th of each month. Essential Skills + 5 years of dedicated construction safety management experience + Current OSHA 30 certification + Red Cross/CPR certification + Experience with traffic control and crane hoisting procedures and plans Additional Skills & Qualifications + CSP/ASP certifications preferred + Deep understanding of OSHA standards and other safety best practices + Experience managing traffic control plans in high-traffic or busy areas + In-depth experience in crane hoisting operations, including lifting plans, load capacities, rigging, and ground conditions assessments Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
