Job Title: Safety Engineer IV
Job Description

Performs engineering studies to determine the best and most safe systems and equipment considering all the issues related to personnel and facility safety. May develop, implement, and monitor company safety programs and policies. Ensures compliance with government health and safety regulations. Conducts employee training in emergency response, life safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical and fire hazards. Performs observations, audits, accident investigations, records data, and prepares recommendations. Conducts safety surveys and recommends corrective action where occupational hazards exist. This role involves receiving assignments in the form of objectives with goals and processes to meet those goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Contributes to the development of the organization's goals and objectives. Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels. Plans and conducts work using independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard scientific and engineering practices. May provide guidance to less experienced engineering personnel. Reviews procedures for compliance with environmental regulations.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Huntsville, Alabama and some days remote.

Work Environment

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives. Involves planning and conducting work independently and providing guidance to less experienced personnel.
