Job Title: Safety Engineer (testing and certs) - Lead
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to lead the testing and certification of consumer electronics products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in safety certifications, excellent technical writing skills, and a deep knowledge of test equipment, procedures, and agency requirements. This is a long-term contract opportunity working with a team on innovative products that are yet to hit the market.

ResponsibilitiesDrive product compliance to IEC/EN/UL/CSA standards.Author CB reports and execute product safety testing of consumer electronics under the CB Scheme, preferably under Client Test Facility Stage 3.Submit reports to certifying agencies with excellent technical writing skills.Lead, mentor, and coordinate safety test engineers.Conduct Failure Analysis Testing and ensure compliance with safety standards.Work independently and collaboratively within large cross-functional teams.Essential SkillsExperience driving product compliance to IEC/EN/UL/CSA standards.Hands-on experience in safety certifications of consumer electronics products under the CB Scheme, preferably up through Stage 3.Excellent technical writing skills and experience submitting reports to certifying agencies.Deep working knowledge of test equipment, test procedures, and agency requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS/MS in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Proven record of working independently and as a team player.Strong interpersonal skills and self-starter.Experience with audio products, such as music headsets/headphones, as it relates to safety and acoustics.Work Environment

This role involves working with a team on top-secret products that are not yet available in the market. The team focuses on consumer electronics and mobile devices, potentially including companies like TUV or UL, and may involve certified EV chargers. The work environment emphasizes compliance and safety engineering, providing a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
