UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is hiring a full-time Safety Guard!

The Safety Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at Western Psychiatric Hospital by establishing a security presence, deterring criminal activity, managing property control, and documenting activities. They will monitor alarms, respond to problems and disputes, and provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff. They also contact law enforcement when necessary and documents incidents as required.

The incumbent will work three 12-hour shifts per week from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, with alternating weekends off. 

*Sign on bonus of $1,500 with a 2-year work commitment*

Responsibilities:

Establish a security presence at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital and associated areas to deter criminal activity and provide customer service. Monitor for unauthorized persons, unusual factors, and mechanical issues, reporting or resolving problems as needed. Conduct searches, manage patient and visitor property, and document activities. Contact UPMC Police or law enforcement for incidents and hazards. Respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances. Provide customer service to maintain a safe environment, monitor alarms, assist with vehicle problems, and escort or direct patients and visitors. Aid handicapped and elderly persons, ensure wheelchair availability, and cooperate with local police. Lock and unlock doors as required, maintain certifications, and complete mandatory training.
