UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is hiring a full-time Safety Guard!

The Safety Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff at Western Psychiatric Hospital.

The incumbent will work three 12-hour shifts, including rotating days and every other weekend.

Responsibilities:

Presence and Monitoring: Establish a presence to deter criminal activity, be aware of unauthorized persons, unusual factors, and mechanical malfunctions; monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms, and respond as needed. Customer Service: Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff; assist with vehicle problems, escort and direct individuals within the facility, and furnish information as requested. Problem Resolution: Respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances; report and document activities, contact law enforcement as necessary. Property Management: Conduct searches, maintain paperwork, and manage patient and visitor property; inventory and manage property. Assistance: Aid handicapped and elderly persons upon arrival and departure; ensure an adequate supply of wheelchairs at the entrance. Collaboration: Work cooperatively with local police departments and authorities; respond to requests for assistance and assist in locating patients. Security: Lock and unlock doors according to business hours. Compliance: Maintain required certifications and licensing; complete all mandatory training programs per departmental guidelines.
