Safety Specialist – Plant Watson This position serves as the primary resource in administering the safety programs and related initiatives for an industrial plant workforce. It ensures compliance with all internal and external safety policies and programs, OSHA and NFPA regulations, and procedures while implementing new initiatives to improve safety performance. It requires working with management and employees to communicate, implement, and monitor safety and health programs. In addition, this position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining plant’s fire protection equipment. It requires partnering with Corporate Safety and Training groups, Health and Medical Services, and various other entities sharing best practices and overseeing new safety initiatives. This position serves as a member of the Safety and Wellness Team providing guidance. Supports plant management in the implementation of the Southern Company safety and health program.
