Lead -- Safety

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Safety Lead to champion and maintain our commitment to workplace safety at our Distribution Center. This role combines hands-on safety leadership with strategic program management to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in safety protocols, training facilitation, and collaborative problem-solving while building and maintaining strong partnerships across all organizational levels.

Essential Job Functions

Safety Compliance & Auditing

Coordinate and conduct regular on-site inspections to audit conditions and safe work practicesConduct comprehensive facility audits to maintain OSHA complianceEvaluate and improve Health and Safety methods, policies, procedures, and programsResearch and implement regulatory requirements, industry standards and safety best practicesInvestigate on-site incidents, near misses, and property damagePrepare detailed reports and information graphs for leadershipMonitor and maintain safety compliance documentation

Training & Development

Lead and conduct regular Safety School training programsFacilitate safety stand down training sessions as neededDevelop and update safety training materialsConduct new hire safety orientationsProvide ongoing safety education and awareness programsTrack and document all training completionsEvaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements

Safety Committee Leadership

Lead and facilitate regular Safety Committee meetingsDevelop and implement safety incentive programsCoordinate issue resolution and follow-upDrive committee initiatives and projectsManage safety suggestion programsTrack and report on committee achievementsFoster employee engagement in safety programs

Operational Support

Assist with company 5S program implementation and maintenanceWork closely with Managers/Supervisors on safety initiativesSupport continuous improvement of safety processesMaintain safety equipment and supplies inventoryCoordinate emergency response proceduresManage safety-related documentation and recordsParticipate in facility improvement projects

Technical Expertise

Qualifications

OSHA 10/30 hour Certification preferredCPR/First Aid and AED Certification preferredExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentialityStrong organizational and documentation skillsPrevious safety leadership experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, stoop and climb for up to 10 hours at a timeClimb stairs and work comfortably on elevated platform/loft areasStand for duration of work shift and walk/move continuouslyWork around moving machinery/equipmentAdjust to climate changes; hot and cold extremes may occur in warehousePerform frequent/reoccurring movement (folding, hanging clothing, wrapping, packing, etc.)Lift up to 50 pounds several times per day; perform overhead lifting as necessary

Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday – FridayFlexible hours as needed to support business needsAbility to work overtime as requiredSome weekend work may be required
