Safety Manager
Job Title: Safety Manager Job Description We are seeking a Safety Manager to develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures for construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of safety and health standards and the ability to coordinate proactive safety planning and site-specific safety requirements. The Safety Manager will assist project teams with job site safety and compliance, conduct safety training, and perform site audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities + Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures for construction projects. + Coordinate a proactive pre-planning approach and develop site-specific project safety requirements. + Assist project team with job site safety and compliance. + Conduct project and office safety training and maintain all training records. + Perform site audits to ensure customer compliance with safety, SWPPP, immigration, and hazardous/universal waste regulations. + Participate in OSHA-related activities. + Participate in incident and near-miss investigations. + Work with the project team to maintain the safety budget and anticipate necessary safety needs. + Attend owner meetings and collaborate on safety requirements. + Assist in the development of new safety programs. + Oversee badging system setup and maintenance on projects. + Be responsible for SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Protection Plan) monitoring and effectiveness. + Monitor infection control requirements on healthcare projects. + Complete safety prequalifications for project bidding and potential projects. + Provide guidance during the contract review process with insurance. + Aid in claim management for automobile, builders’ risk, general liability, inland marine, and property claims. + Assist in the employee drug testing program. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in construction management, occupational health and safety, or equivalent experience. + 5+ years of experience in construction safety + Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential a plus, but not required About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
