Safety Manager
Safety Manager $10 million+ project experience to work at the Capital Power Plant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager for a roof project at the Capital Power Plant. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and corporate safety standards, provide necessary safety documentation and resources, and lead safety training and motivational campaigns. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining and improving safety practices on-site. You will use innovative and cutting edge technology, you can learn from some of the best project managers/project executives that lead by example not rule with force. You will work for a firm that is not so huge that you get lost as another number but not so small they would go out of business.

ResponsibilitiesDetermine appropriate safety equipment and safe work practices for subcontractors and subordinates based on OSHA, MIOSHA, and corporate standards.Examine equipment slated for purchase and proposed facility modifications for safety requirements, and recommend necessary adjustments.Provide job sites with necessary safety documentation and resources during mobilization.Chair regular safety meetings and ensure coordinated safety training and motivational campaigns.Stay updated on OSHA, MIOSHA, and corporate safety regulations and standards.Coordinate and plan employee training programs to develop safety leadership expertise.Develop and communicate company safety policies, practices, resources, and tools.Advise project teams on safety concerns and problems.Establish an evaluation program and participate in annual reviews of superintendents regarding safety.Perform and supervise periodic inspections of job sites, equipment, and working conditions.Ensure that protective devices and safe work procedures are used.Investigate unsafe working conditions and ensure they are permanently remedied.Conduct structured safety evaluations of project sites and review safety leadership actions with project teams.Review weekly safety reports from superintendents and follow up on any concerns.Initiate and ensure investigations of accidents and unsafe working conditions, compile data, and provide remedial actions.Act as a liaison with government agencies and serve as a management representative in case of inquiries and inspections.Manage, coach, and mentor Safety Managers in all aspects of their job scope.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of safety experience in quality control, OSHA compliance, federal construction, and USACE.Experience in handling hazardous materials (HAZMAT).Experience in managing large construction projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsRoof experience is highly preferred.Work Environment

The Safety Manager will work on the construction site, with a day shift starting at 6 am. The work environment involves the use of innovative and cutting-edge technology, and the opportunity to learn from experienced project managers and executives. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00
