Job Overview The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and programs at all Wright-Ryan facilities and construction sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify hazards, provide safety training, and work with the team to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Job Requirements + Promote a culture of health and safety at Wright-Ryan. + Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT). + Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and subcontractors. Coordinate ongoing safety training for all employees. + Perform safety audits and inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures. + Coordinate and conduct worksite safety inspections, assessments, surveys, and program evaluations on job sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations and contract requirements and accompany safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk-through tours. + Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions. Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities. Manage investigations with employees, subcontractor personnel, and insurance carriers for each accident occurrence or violation. + Prepare site specific health and safety plans for bid proposals and preconstruction submittals for newly awarded projects. + Review daily, weekly and monthly field documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures. + Monitor and report on safety performance and statistics. + Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and construction trends. + Coordinate emergency response and first-aid procedures. Education, Experience, and Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + 5+ years of experience in construction safety management. + OSHA certification (OSHA 30-hour construction minimum, OSHA 500 preferred). + In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations. + Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to train and motivate teams on safety protocols. + First Aid/CPR certification (preferred). + Knowledge and experience with construction software and technology (Procore and Microsoft Office) preferred.
