Job Description
We are seeking a Safety Manager located near Baltimore, MD to oversee various projects in the Electrical field. The Safety Manager will ensure that workers on construction projects maintain the highest level of safety. This role involves collaborating closely with project owners and contractors to develop safety plans and protocols that foster an open culture of safety.
ResponsibilitiesThoroughly understand, administer, and enforce OSHA regulations and other federal, state, and local standards, and company safety policies and procedures to establish and maintain a safe work environment.Complete all OSHA logs and file annual reports and postings to maintain compliance.Enforce all safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment at all times.Develop system accountability for the overall safety program for the company.Develop and drive safety plans and protocols that foster an open culture of safety.Ensure that employees on-site understand the chain of command when a safety incident occurs through strict company policies and procedures.Liaise with external parties such as government-employed inspectors, OSHA, MOSH, VOSH, inspectors to facilitate evaluation of construction sites.Familiarize with environmental laws as they pertain to construction safety.Oversee and enforce all fire safety plans.Responsible for developing and implementing the overall company policy.Enforce zero tolerance policy with respect to safety violations, in a timely manner, driving disciplinary action with HR Manager’s input.Manage and drive the Company Safety Committee, ensuring all ideas are vetted, actionable programs presented to management for approval, and approved programs are distributed and enforced as best as possible.Ensure diversity within the safety committee.Maintain consistency in committee meeting agenda monthly, including measures taken to resolve current challenges and drive a proactive safety approach on hot topics.Essential SkillsMinimum of five (5) years of safety field experience.Knowledgeable with governmental ES&H standards, rules, and regulations and proficient with applying them to construction projects.Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices and experience with conducting accident investigations.Excellent communication and presentation skills for management and field personnel.Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the company, federal and state representatives, company insurance carrier, and outside vendors.Attention to detail and prioritizing tasks; self-managed; timely completion of tasks and able to meet deadlines.Additional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 500 and 510 certification.First Aid / CPR instructor certification.Completed OSHA Train the Trainer certification.Electrical experience preferred.Strong computer skills.Work Environment
The Safety Manager will be responsible for training and maintaining the safety department. This role involves traveling to construction sites throughout the DMV area and to the office in Baltimore throughout the week. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00
